Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Research Head to lead and strengthen the organization's research capabilities across multiple asset classes. The incumbent will be responsible for driving research strategy, managing research teams, delivering high-quality market insights, and supporting trading, investment, and business decisions through actionable research.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research Strategy & Leadership
- Lead and manage the research function across equities, commodities, and other relevant asset classes.
- Develop and execute the overall research strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of research analysts.
2. Market Research & Analysis
- Oversee fundamental, technical, and quantitative research across domestic and international markets.
- Drive the development of actionable research reports, market outlooks, investment ideas, and trading strategies.
- Monitor macroeconomic trends, global market developments, sector performance, and key market drivers.
3. Business & Trading Desk Support
- Collaborate closely with trading desks, investment teams, and business leadership to provide timely market intelligence.
- Deliver research insights supporting trading strategies, investment decisions, and client engagement.
- Ensure timely dissemination of market updates, research recommendations, and investment perspectives.
4. Research Quality & Governance
- Establish robust research methodologies, quality standards, and review processes.
- Ensure research publications and recommendations comply with applicable SEBI regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and credibility across research outputs.
5. Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Present market outlooks, investment themes, and research insights to senior management, institutional clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in investor interactions, webinars, market discussions, and industry forums.
- Work with business teams to strengthen research-led client engagement and market positioning.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 12–18 years of experience in capital markets research, with significant experience leading research teams.
- Strong expertise in equities, commodities, derivatives, and global financial markets.
- Proven experience in managing multi-asset research functions or leading a substantial research desk.
- Strong understanding of fundamental analysis, technical analysis, valuation methodologies, and macroeconomic research.
- Experience working closely with institutional trading desks, investment teams, or securities broking businesses.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of applicable SEBI Research Analyst regulations and research compliance requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.
- CFA / CA or equivalent professional qualifications preferred.
- Relevant NISM certifications, where applicable.
Preferred Candidate Background
Professionals from established securities broking houses, institutional equities firms, investment banks, asset management companies, or multi-asset research organisations.
Key Hiring Requirement: Candidates must have demonstrated experience leading research teams, developing actionable market insights, and working closely with trading or investment businesses. Preference will be given to professionals with exposure to both Indian and international financial markets.
